Marlene Haring
als Beilage (Marlene Haring as
insert/side dish), 2,500
unique photocopies, distributed in
Quart, Heft für Kultur Tirol,
No. 11, November 2007, Austria
‘Für Sie reiß ich mir den Arsch
auf’ is equivalent to ‘For you, I
work my ass off’ in English. Literally,
it says: ‘For you, I tear my arse open’.
The publication was accompanied by this message
by Marlene Haring:
For whom? For you! For you. I have been thinking
about this for weeks. How to solve this situation,
what contact I would wish to have with you, the
future owner of the insert. What do you want
from me? What do I want from you? Or what shall
I do for you? To greet you politely, flatter
you, report to you, or to go like a bull at a
gate (to blurt something out)? Honestly, I choose
the latter, since I do only have a moment’s
chance when you get to this page, where you could
get to know me. For you, I work my ass off. That’s
how fast it can go from effort to intimacy.
