FlipFlop: an ambientTV.NET production Motion poets, cyborgs, soundmakers and light artists
collaborate on a series of site-specific telematic theatre performances
that mess with the boundaries between audience and performer, the venue
and the street outside, local dialects and the story being told globally.
Broadly, the theme is relationships as mediated by technology, and flipflop's
realisation makes extensive use of waveLAN (wireless networking). The
narrative structure is essentially digressive, building the characters
through vignettes that weave together fragments, marginal notes, and asides.
Through the development period, segments of flipflop will be published
in print, as video and music CDs, and online, and performed at pilot shows.
The process has begun with the vignette synchronicity, produced at Makrolab
during its residency in Perthshire, and published as a photostory in the
Lithuanian art magazine BLUR. A viral trailer of synchronicity is available
on request. click
